Habit Machine Launches New EP as a Follow-Up to their Acclaimed Album Morning Masquerade

Habitat Machine, the band whose album, Morning Masquerade, topped many of last years best-of lists, is at it again with their new EP. The EP is defiantly titled It's Not Over to answer many critics who believed the band may be kuputes out after their guitarist and song writer Jack Burmerak left and emigrated to the Bahamas. But front man Casey Allan makes it clear that they are in it for the  long haul. "There were a lot of skeptics who thought we would never make it into the studio again after Jack left, this and It's Not Over shows that we still have what it takes to be creative."

It's Not Over was recorded over just four weeks in a log cabin in  the mountains of Santa Cruz, California. "The environment really helped inspire us. The California Redwoods towered over our house and it just made us want to make more organic, simple music." And out of the forest came just that, a record uninhibited by bells and whistles, harmonic violin mixes with base guitar to create something that is unique and beautiful.

Early buzz about It's Not Over:

"Once the best kept secret of San Francisco's music scene Habitat Machine has rightfully exploded as one of the hottest indie acts this year" - The Village Voice

"It's Not Over packs twice the force in half the tracks... Its an aesthetic tour-de-force, power packed with nuance and subtlety."-Rolling Stone

"Habitat  Machine sounds like Nada Surf seducing Sufjan Stevens. It's a mix of longing shoegaze and perfect pop, creating a lush and wonderful pallet of complimentary sounds." -Pitchfork
